MAILBAG:
hi Felix,
just tuned into 1590 am and am listening to your interview.
You sound like someone who may know a little about something I have been curious about.
In the early ’70’s, channel 13 in this area was occupied by a Tacoma station if memory serves correctly,
no idea the call letters, but they called themselves “the Bladen station”.
And sure enough, some who I remember as being somewhat of a Wierd Al Yankovic type, at kiddy time, would come on the set in a super suit, identifying himself as “Flash Bladen”.
Does any of this ring a bell?
Gratefully,
Frank

Hmmm, he has me confused with Feliks Banel, noted Seattle/media historian. Feliks was also featured on the recent KLFE/KKOL interview program “Spotlight On The Sound.”

Hi Frank,
Flash Blaidon was the afternoon kiddie show on KTVW 13. The Blaidon company was the first to bring color programming to channel 13.
