(8-10-19)From his ex-wife: It is with a heavy heart that earlier today my friend and first husband Bob Hovanes, passed away. He was surrounded by his loving family, wife Bev, son Chris and daughter Aubrey. God’s speed Bob. I love you.

On the lighter side, Steve Lawson, (KING-AM and voice-over talent) posts on Facebook: Such an honor to be included with this amazing group of Seattle Rock’N Roll radio pioneers. I was amongst the 2nd generation for sure. Hats off to Pat O’Day for getting the ball rolling at KJR. I grew up listening to many of those in the pic, including World Famous Tom Murphy, Pat, Gary Shannon, Steve West and and Scotty Brink. And I got to work along side so many others in this photo. In fact, Ric Hansen used to come to KING from KJR to record Jay Jacobs radio commercials with me. And I did so much work back in the day with George Toles. And Joe Michaels replaced me (once removed) as the voice of KING TV. I think he held that imaging voice job longer than anyone at KING. Those certainly were the days. We missed you Mike West & Burl Barer. Thanks Mark Bolland for taking the pictures and Steve West for organizing this annual lunch.
