Survey Says: There’s A Podcast Out There With Your Name On It

INSIDERADIO reports: A third of air personalities are now doing a podcast. That includes 13% who say they’ve been doing one “for years.” That’s according to Jacobs Media. But its Air Talent Questionnaire, an anonymous online survey of more than 1,000 on-air talent, found that the biggest hurdle to getting the other two-thirds of air personalities to become podcasters is simply a lack of time in their workday…

Sinclair Broadcast Group and the Walt Disney Company have closed their $9.6 billion deal for Sinclair to buy 21 Fox Regional Sports Networks and Fox College Sports. The deal was announced in May after Disney bought the networks as part of its acquisition of Twenty-First Century Fox. The portfolio, which excludes the YES Network, is described as the largest collection of RSNs in the marketplace and includes exclusive local rights to 42 professional teams consisting of 14 Major League Baseball (MLB) teams, 16 National Basketball Association (NBA) teams, and 12 National Hockey League (NHL) teams. – VARIETY
