Lost Treasures: Neon Philharmonic – “Morning Girl”

From 1969, this week’s Lost Treasure is on Warner Bros. records & “Morning Girl” is one of two hits for Neon Philharmonic.  The name suggests a rather large group of players but was the basic output of two musicians – Tupper Saussy & Don Gant.  In 1967, there was an actual group of this name formed by these two, but by 1969 was down to the duo plus studio musicians.  The lush sounding MOR single featured the Nashville Symphony Orchestra among the backing musicians.  The duo scored again with a minor hit in 1970 “Heighdy-Ho Princess” but singles recorded & released after that failed to make an impression on radio, listeners & the charts & by 1975 the duo disbanded. Thanks for pointing your browser each day to Puget Sound Media & enjoy your weekend!
