  1. Oceans of beautiful musical mish-mash. This type of format was a success on many Seattle stations for many years, and I never argue against success.

  2. Pretty interesting to hear what both KIRO AM & FM thanks to my dad who listened to both stations back then. I was wondering are they any broadcast tapes from both stations back then? My father told me stories about listening to Andy Williams, Engelbert, Tom Jones, Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass and Dionne Warwick on both KIRO AM & FM stations.

      1. On the 30:20 mark of that audio WCBS FM was playing “The Right Track” by The Split Level from 1968 led by the late Liz Senoff (passed away in 1993) and was from Pittsburgh. Her claim to fame was in the 70’s singing the “Candid Camera” theme and if you remember the Coca-Cola commercial back in 1979-80 featuring “Mean” Joe Greene she was the one who sang that jingle! I learned this from her niece several weeks ago! I found this video of then singing “The Right Track” on a local Philadelphia show called “The Hy Lit” from WKBS-TV 48 (non network station) from 1969 that no longer exists. Very thoughtful song and Liz was a beauty back then! That song caught my ear!
