January 27th will be Kirby Wilbur’s final day at 570 KVI. Wilbur will retire to Texas, where he has family. Wilbur has been with KVI since 2016, and previously 1993-2009. KVI has long been the Conservative Talk beacon for the Pacific Northwest.
KRKO Everett would like to hear from former employees to help celebrate its 100th birthday in August. Contact elise.detloff@krko.com for further information.
I liked him much more than Limbaugh, Michael Reagan, Medved, etc. There’s an actual brain in his head.
Enjoy retirement Kirby. (Not a shock that he is not staying around Seattle.)
Is KVI going to find a replacement for Kirby?
Well, I’m a Democrat, but I’m happy for Kirby’s retirement for the right reasons. A longtime pro hanging up his cleats.
Kirby doesn’t have the greatest on-air delivery, but he is very bright and well-informed. Also a teacher, former Republican Party State Chair, and–I really like this one–a former property appraiser.
