This Tuesday, June 29, listen for special moments throughout the broadcast day to recognize the 80th anniversary of the station.

KIRO FM programming includes CBS News
6 am- Dave Ross, news, sports, weather & traffic, with Dave’s commentary
9 am- Three hours of Critical Race Theory and White Guilt with Gee Scott and Ursula Reutin, respectively
12 Noon-3pm- Dori Monson – Love him, hate him, Dori tells it as he sees it
3pm-7pm- The Tom & Curley Show with John Curley and Tom Tangney, both the Liberal and Conservative viewpoints
7 pm- Jack Stine, KIRO evening talk fest

  1. I heard or read somewhere that KIRO’s call letters are based on the Greek letters “chi” and “rho”, the first two letters of the name Christ…Most of those 80 years they competed neck and neck with KOMO, which is rather amazing.

    1. I think that was the kind of music KIRO was playing back when they were running programs from CBS, like Arthur Godfrey and Art Linkletter.

    2. Oh perfect! Now I have the Art Van Damme and Paul Weston music search running at Youtube. I’ll be here for hours.
